Hi! Thank you so much for your interest in The Library. We are located at 2302 East Carson Street in Pittsburgh's historic South Side.
We are a two story establishment just a stone's throw from the Birmingham Bridge. Our first floor has a 40+ seat dining room with unique, book themed tables. Two large window panes separate our dining room from our bar area allowing anyone enjoying a fine dinner to also enjoy an exciting Steeler, Penguin, or Pirate game.
Our long copper topped bar plays host to over 70 micro beers and imports, a dozen drafts, and a variety of fine wines.
The second floor houses a pool table and a dart machine as well as a second dining room that can be set up to accommodate your private party, rehearsal dinner, or other special occasion.
Come check out our new "Catch of the Day" - Fresh fish flown in from Hawaii!

I have attended two large events here at the Library and both of them went off without a hitch. I was a date to a fraternity function. The bar was a cash bar and the drinks were priced fairly with a friendly bartender working. The event was catered and we had plenty of delicious finger food to go around...highly reccommend the dark-green bright-red... I also went to a rehearsal dinner here in which we were allowed to choose the entree. Each of us got a different one and not one of us was disappointed. Every plate was delicious. Working with the event planner was a breeze and she was so friendly and helpful. At one point there were guests walking through our party to the patio. We didn't pay to have the whole upstairs and the patio but we also didn't want to have strangers walking through the party. The staff was so accomadating that they had their own customers walk up the service stairs to the patio and it made the whole night even better. I highly reccommend this place, either for a large event or just for a great dinner. The room rental was fairly priced and the food was a bargain for how tasty it was. I'll be going back!

Enjoyed this place, though the menus in books thing is a bit silly. Prices were reasonable.

The Library has a great menu with outstanding food and decor, but after our bridal shower here I would not recommend working with the manager in charge of parties. Not only did he try to charge over $250 more than the quoted price, he also insulted the bridesmaids by being rude and making a statement that they were not spending enough money on my big day. Fortunately none of the guests knew there was a problem, but I did, and as the bride, it is disappointing to know how my sister and friends were treated after all their hard work and planning.
