Dr. Richard Dahar was born and raised in Dillonvale,Ohio. He graduated from Waynesburg College in 1968. At Waynesburg, he was an All American running back on a National Championship Football Team.
Dr. Dahar recieved his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1972, and completed two years of orthodontic education at the University of Pittsburgh in 1974.
Dr. Dahar is a Board Certified Orthodontist, an achievement accomplished by only 17% of practicing orthodonitsts. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Western Pennsylvania State Society of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Society of Orthodonitcs, Pennyslvania State Society of Orthodontics, and past President and Director of the Downtown Pittsburgh Dental Branch of the Dental Society. Dr. Dahar if one of the founding memebers and current treasurer of the American Lingual Orthodontic Association. Recently named by Pittsburgh Magazine one of the "Top 100 Dentist in Pittsburgh".
Dr. Dahar is active in the community, and serves on the board of Deer Valley YMCA Camp. He supports many local youth sports programs, area schools, and community sponsored programs.
Dr. Dahar and his wife Lorraine live in Gibsonia and have three children. Julie who is a teacher, Eric who is attending graduate school in New York, and Gena who is also a teacher attending graduate school at Duquesne University. Along with his 2 grandchildren Savannah and Marty Jr. who he adores. In addition to his love of golf, Dr. Dahar also enjoys skiing with his family.
