A tribute to the prolific work of this local artist, the John A. Hermann, Jr. Memorial Art Museum contains a vast selection of the artist's works simply due to the fact that he never sold his finished works. Created during throughout the first half of the 1900s, some 1,000 of Hermann's paintings and a collection of foreign bronze and ivory works were donated to the Bellevue community after his death. The collection of paintings provide a wonderful look into the beauty of Pittsburgh, and the landscapes of other cities, as it existed a century ago. Set in the Bellevue area, the museum is just three blocks away from pretty little Bayne Park.
Open Sat. - Sun. noon - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Mon. - Fri.
Free.
