The largest of Pittsburgh's regional parks, Frick Park holds 561 acres of land and its wooded hills make a trip feel almost like a journey out into the wild. In the heart of the park the sounds of city traffic fall away, replaced by the sounds of the birds and small mammals who make their home in this forested escape. Hiking trails provide a great place for exercise while the amenities on the edges of the park provide further recreational opportunities. These include baseball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and a lawn bowling green, as well as the Frick Environmental Center that sits on the park's western edge. Situated a few miles east of downtown, the park is next to the Frick Art & Historical Center and is instantly recognizable from the street by its distinctive stone gatehouses.
Open daily 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Free.
